Race Details
How do I register for a race?
You may register on the Santa Run website up to two days prior to the race
date. Race day registration is available IF spaces are still available. You
must arrive 30 minutes early and it is a cash only transaction.
How do I know if I am registered?
You may confirm your registration on the Race Roster website. Search by
race name and choose “confirm registration” from the menu.
When does registration close?
Online registration closes at midnight, two days prior to race day. Late registration
is available at package pickup and on race day IF there is available space
(cash only transaction).
Is there early bird registration?
Yes. There are two price increases for registration leading up to race day.
The earlier you register, the lower your registration fee.
Do I have my registration fee if I raise over $100 in
donations?
Yes, if you raise over $100 by the stated deadline on the race information
page, we will refund your race registration fee (processing fees are
non-refundable).
What is your refund policy?
We understand that life happens, and racers sometimes need to pull out of a
race. We want to support our runners whenever possible, as well as being fair
to everyone. Please see our Registration Policies for details.
Is there a minimum age for 5K run entry?
Youth are welcome to participate in the 5K run with parental consent and if
they are able to complete the event within the maximum allowable time.
Participants under the age of 19 years of age must have a parent or guardian
sign the waiver.
Is there a kid’s run?
We do have a 1K Kids race. Kids must be registered by a parent or guardian.
Young children must be accompanied on the 1K run.
What are the course distances?
We have a 5K fun run and a 1K Kids run.
What type of terrain does the course cover?
The 5K run is on paved surfaces including pathways and the seawall. The 1K
Kids run starts and ends on a paved surface, with the majority of the run on a groomed
gravel/dirt trail.
What skill level is required for this course?
Our 5K run is a fun run for runners of all skill levels from experienced to
beginner runners. Our 1K Kids run is also a fun run and yes, walking is
allowed.
Is there a cut-off time?
The 5K course closes at 11:30 a.m.
Where may I get a map and course description?
Map and course descriptions may be found on our website.
Are there aid stations on course?
Yes, we have one aid station for the 5K run at approximately 3K into the
run with water only. Reminder that we are a cup-less race, so you must bring
your own drinking vessel on the course.
Where will race results be posted?
Race results will be available on startlinetiming.com or our website.
What else do I need to know about the run course?
Our run courses take you through Devonian and Stanley Parks. Routes are
open to the public on race day. Please be alert and courteous of other park
users. Review our Race Rules & Etiquette for more information.
Does everyone who registers get a Santa suit?
Our goal is to have everyone in a Santa suit, however, we cannot guarantee
a Santa suit for registrations received after November 15th so
please register early.
Where do I pick up my race package and race number?
On the Thursday or Friday before race day, from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the
Forerunners store on Main Street.
May I register on race day?
We encourage you to register online, however, you may still do “late registration”
on the Thursday or Friday at package pickup or on race day at the race start/finish
area. If you are doing “late registration” on race day, you must arrive at
least 60 minutes prior to race start. Only cash is accepted on race day. N
May I pick up my race package, including race number, on
race day?
Yes. Please arrive at least 60 minutes early if you are picking up your
race package and number on race day.
May I pick up a race package, including race number, for
someone else?
Yes, provided the individual has registered online or a paper registration
form with signed waiver has been completed and payment made.
Where do I place my race (bib) number?
On your front, where it is visible to course marshals. We track racers
on the course at various locations and if we can’t see your number, it’s like
you were never there.
Do I need special footwear?
From a safety and performance perspective, it is recommended that you use footwear designed specifically for running.
Is there storage for my dry bag?
Yes. You can check-in a bag with dry cloths for after your race at the
start area.
What awards are offered and when are they presented?
Awards are offered for the top three positions, male and female, for the 5K
race. Awards are presented on race day. You can check the Schedule of Events
for award times.
What do I need to bring?
Your Santa suit of course! Dress appropriately for the weather under your
Santa suit. Carry hydration if you feel you will be on course for longer than one
hour. Bring dry, warm clothing to change into after your race.
Is there official photography?
Yes, we will have official photographers. These will be available on our
website following the event.
Are toilet facilities available?
YES! There will be a combination of local and portable toilet facilities available.
Volunteering
How do I become a volunteer?
If you would like to come out and support your fellow runners, friends, family or just like volunteering with a great group of people, you can send us your information by clicking on “volunteer now” on the Santa Run website, “volunteer” on the registration page or contact us at santarun@burnfund.org.
What is expected of volunteers?
We want our volunteers to enjoy the experience of supporting our runners throughout the event. Our volunteers will be well prepared by reviewing the race course, reading ALL volunteer information, arriving and checking-in at the scheduled time, being ready for changing weather conditions and understanding how much the Santa Run Team and your fellow runners appreciate your contribution.
Do volunteers receive anything?
In addition to a ton of appreciation and thanks, volunteers will receive an identifying hat or t-shirt.
Clinic Details
Do you have clinics to train for the Santa Run?
Forerunners on Main Street is one of our Sponsors and holds a 5K Run clinic
to help get you ready for the Santa Run.
How do I register?
You may register on the Forerunners website or at the Forerunners Main
Street store.
Where does the clinic meet?
At the Forerunners on Main Street. Check with Forerunners for dates and
times.
Do you allow drop-ins?
You will need to check with Forerunners regarding their drop-in policy.
